Hello Middle School families!
I hope everyone is having a good 2016-17 school year and starting to enjoy the fall weather! I’ve definitely been enjoying the changing colors.
My departure date from EMS is unknown at this time as we need to raise adequate funds in order to leave for the first year of our term. We hope to leave in early winter of 2017.
Asher and I will be living in Francistown, Botswana, which is located just above South Africa and is a land-locked country about the size of Texas. It is an economically sound country upon the discovery of diamonds and has grown from one of the poorest countries in the world to a middle-income country since it gained independence.
Our main work will be based out of the Mother Theresa Resource Centre (MTRC), a community center where we will participate in current programs such as after-school help, tutoring, and educational opportunities. In addition, we have been asked to develop and create vision for new programs based on community needs. Aside from our work at MTRC, we may also be involved in prison ministry through church efforts, sports ministry programs, and other local community initiatives. We look forward to walking alongside the children and youth we meet, providing them with nurturing, caring adult figures and modeling Christ’s love to each of them.
I have so enjoyed my time at EMS and have appreciated watching your children grow and learn in such a loving community.
Thank you for guiding and shaping your children during these often difficult years. Your prayers and support are appreciated during this transitional time for Asher and me. Click here if you would like to see a copy of our support letter.
