EMMS Service Learning In Action!

Service Learning Update!

This year all of our Middle School students will engage in service learning projects. These projects reinforce our school commitment to compassionate service, provide much needed help to others and allow our Middle School students to build community as they work and learn together.

Here's a sampling of projects to date and some photos showing their work in action:

• 6th grade has been assisting our Dining Hall staff by tightening loose screws on chairs, counting cookies to be served, and helping clean the EMS Dining Hall.

• 7th grade has toured the grounds of Vine and Fig  to learn  about permaculture and how it serves our community.

• 8th grade has traveled to our Elementary School to help tidy both their Gathering space and the school garden beds.

We've already appreciated our middle school students' hard work and joyful spirits!
